Maple Brown Sugar Cookies

These little cookies are easy to make in a pinch. This recipe makes 48 cookies. Thread festive string through the holes and bundle four together for a cute little gift. I've recently began weighing out ingredients because it's so much easier to be exact- and in baking, you want to be exact!  If you don't have a kitchen scale, it's a great little investment.

4 ounces/1 stick softened butter

3 ounces brown sugar

Large pinch of sea salt

4 fluid ounces maple syrup

2 fluid ounces milk

Splash of vanilla

1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

17 ounces flour

Using a hand mixer, mix butter, brown sugar, and sea salt until well combined. Add in maple syrup and continue mixing. Add milk, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice and mix. Gently fold in flour and shape dough into a ball. Wrap and chill for 30-40 minutes.

Preheat oven to 340°F. Roll out dough to 1/4" on a floured surface. I used 2" + 1.5" biscuit cutters and a round piping nozzle to cut the circles out and create the indent of the button. Bake for 15- 16 minutes.
